e-Burol

it was raining this afternoon as i was riding the jeep home when i saw a banner along Quezon Avenue. St Peter Memorial Chapels has a new promo. i found the ad weird right away. i couldn't believe at first what i saw. St. Peter has a new service called "e-burol" or online viewing of wake of dead relatives and friends. isn't it a bit odd? what would be next, an online wedding? or is it already being practiced nowadays??

the last thing that we could do for a dead loved one is to pay respect by being present in their wake, right? i already found it a bit strange when i first found out that they have wifi in the chapels. i can imagine what my lolas, parents and titas would do if they catch my surfing the net during the wake.. they'll be so mad. what about the traditions, right?

i agree that viewing the wake via the internet is cheaper compared to taking a plane or bus and going personally. in a way, it's practical since it would be easier for those relatives living in other parts of the world and those who are too sick to travel..it has a manner of bringing families virtually closer but then the cost would be less or loss of human touch. what if my relative haunt me coz of that? it's not all bad, but i just think that it wouldn't work for me as of now.

what's next, videoke?

Thats a very good Idea.. Usually ang umuuwi lang Immediate Family.. Atleast other relatives and friends abroad can view the wake...
Mas maganda kung may Paypal para they could make dollar donations as well... Imagine.. bukas mo lang YM mo... or shoutout sa friendster mo yung link.. ok na :)

    Katakot topic mo sis...

    Knock on wood :)

I recently saw those ads along q.ave too! Para sa mga OFWs or relatives living abroad siguro yan. Weird for us, but it may actually make sense to them.

When my time comes, gusto ko may videoke sa burol ko. Mahilig naman ako dun eh. Nung burol nga ng auntie ko four years ago, naisip ko na yun, that since singing was a big part of her and was something she shared with a lot of us, sana may videoke. Sa 'kin, I'd want nothing else but for friends and family to remember me while they sing videoke style. ;)

I saw the ads too, and I also found them weird, but hey, some people like OFWs may find them useful if they can't come home.

I understand about the wi-fi especially for people who telecommute and want to continue working even during that time. But for plain surfing -- parang mali yun

I'm slightly shocked. It's a bit weird. Well, a lot.

I feel like laughing, at how odd it sounds.

I think it works best for relatives living in other parts of the country or the world who cannot personally come to view the remains and pay their respects.

One the other hand, viewing the dead online is kinda creepy kahit relative mo pa yun. I'll just pray for them. What's the use of "viewing" anyway?

maybe it's just shocking coz its the first time i encountered this sort of thing. pero medyo practical nga siguro for the relatives who live in other countries.

Now, I'm happy and lucky , I started to get real income.
It's all about how to choose a proper partner who utilizes your money in a right way - that is incorporate it in real business, and shares the income with me.
