it was raining this afternoon as i was riding the jeep home when i saw a banner along Quezon Avenue. St Peter Memorial Chapels has a new promo. i found the ad weird right away. i couldn't believe at first what i saw. St. Peter has a new service called "e-burol" or online viewing of wake of dead relatives and friends. isn't it a bit odd? what would be next, an online wedding? or is it already being practiced nowadays??
the last thing that we could do for a dead loved one is to pay respect by being present in their wake, right? i already found it a bit strange when i first found out that they have wifi in the chapels. i can imagine what my lolas, parents and titas would do if they catch my surfing the net during the wake.. they'll be so mad. what about the traditions, right?
i agree that viewing the wake via the internet is cheaper compared to taking a plane or bus and going personally. in a way, it's practical since it would be easier for those relatives living in other parts of the world and those who are too sick to travel..it has a manner of bringing families virtually closer but then the cost would be less or loss of human touch. what if my relative haunt me coz of that? it's not all bad, but i just think that it wouldn't work for me as of now.
what's next, videoke?
its been a tradition to cook pancit or noodles whenever someone's celebrating his/her birthday. the long noodles signify a long, happy and healthy life. the noodles should never be cut if you don't want to cut one's life short.
Seafood Salad Roll- another favorite of mine. mix of crab sticks, some veggies, mango with mayo rolled on some sort of batter then fried. these rolls are best eaten with their secret dip-
I've been eating a lot that whole week and even the week before that. what else should i do? haha.. there were a lot of holidays and class suspensions due to typhoons. i can't think of better ways to spend the free time but to eat! i'm a foodie! i love food and if given a chance, i'd travel the whole world and try everything from fine dining to fast food to street food, i'm game! :) but since i'm still here in the philippines i'll settle with taco bell's mexican food. i love cheese, beef and sour cream so it's not difficult for me to love mexican food. in fact, tacos and quesadillas are some of my favorites.

Sensitive Doers are gentle, modest and reserved persons. They cope well with everyday life and like their privacy. With their quiet, optimistic nature, they are also good, sought-after listeners and other people feel well in their company. All in all, this type is the most likeable and friendliest of all personality types. Tolerance and heir regard for others distinguish their personality. They are very caring, generous and always willing to help. They are open to and interested in everything that is new or unknown to them. However, if their inner value system or their sense of justice is hurt, Sensitive Doers can suddenly and surprisingly become forceful and assertive.
Sensitive Doers enjoy the comforts life offers to the full. They are very happy in everyday life. Sensitive Doers are often gifted artists or very good craftsmen. Creativity, imagination and an especially keen perception are just a few of their strong points. Sensitive Doers are very presence-oriented; long-term planning and preparations do not appeal to them. They take life as it comes and react flexibly to daily demands. They do not like too much routine and predictability. Their talents come more to the fore when work processes are variable and there are not so many rules. Sensitive Doers like to work alone; if they are part of a team, they do not get involved in competitive or power games and prefer living and working together harmoniously and openly.
Sensitive Doers are completely satisfied with a small, close circle of friends as their need for social contacts is not very marked. Here, too, they avoid conflicts - quarrels and disputes put considerable strain on them. Sensitive Doers are often very fond of animals and are very good with small children. As partner, this type is loyal and reliable and is willing to invest a lot in a relationship. Mutual respect and tolerance are very important to Sensitive Doers. Their love of pleasure makes them a pleasant companion with whom one can experience intensive moments. They like to look after their partner with attentiveness and small gifts and are very sensitive to the partner’s needs - often more than to their own. However, should they meet the wrong person, they run the risk of being taken advantage of. They are then deeply disappointed.-->ngek!

Another meme from king hearthur. hm.. honestly, i find this meme very difficult to answer since i don't usually talk bout these things with other people, aside from my very close friends or family.
but then, it would truly be a waste of time if i would just refuse to make comments and not share the juicy parts, right?? LOL.. anyways, here it goes..
1. When was your first kiss and where?
see? very hard to answer.. hm.. i can't remember.. a playmate stole a kiss from me back when i was still 7 or 8. i didn't understand at first what happened . it's just weird.. oh well.. he ruined my first kiss! haha.. ok.. that used to be a secret.. until now..first real kiss? haha.. secret na yun! :)
2. When was your first real relationship and how long did it last?
hm.. first real? define.. why? are there fake ones? i consider all of them real. there are only certain different degrees and levels though.. one stood out. is that it? if i'll look back and choose, i think it may seem unfair to the others.. i wont tell when. but it lasted for more or less 2 years.. i said more or less coz i myself aint sure when it ended..
3. What age were you allowed to date?
technically, i wasn't allowed. my parents didn't want me to enter a relationship while im still in school. they wanted me to finish my studies first but in the end, they still let me choose and decide. open minded pala sila. :)
4. What's the craziest thing you did (for love) when you were a teenager?
teenager? hm.. wag na. nakakahiya eh.. haha.. nung twenties nalang..
i didn't sleep, the whole night before my med tech board exams..because --..
im very lucky to have passed.
5. How long is your longest relationship and what's the secret?
2 years.. there's no secret..
6. How long did you date before you decided to settle down?
still no answer to that..not yet there.
7. How long did you know he was the ONE?
ha? still no answer. i just pray that God will give the answer when the right person and the right time comes.
8. Now, at what age will you allow your kid(s) to date? (if and only if I end up having kids)
whenever they're ready. they must be responsible and mature enough to decide, choose what's right and be able to deal with relationship matters..
9. When it comes to your kids dating, will you be a cool parent or a strict parent?
shempre cool lang. being too strict isn't effective IMO. you have to understand your kids. lahat naman tayo dumaan sa pagkabata. we are only here to guide them always and let them grow well.
10. What piece of advice can you give to your child when they start dating?
di ko yata pwede i-advice na don't give up. they must know that it is important that they know when and when not to hold on any longer. i'll tell my kids that it's important that in choosing their partners, that someone must be a person they not only love but they should also respect. of course, they must never forget to pray.
yey! done!
and now is payback time..! i'm tagging the love doctors DAK, CED, EUGE, LOST CARLOS, SPIFE, MARGE and THEA. :)
just came back from another hiatus.
-no photohunt entries for the past 2 weeks.
-and one difficult meme yet to accomplish. :)
what are they selling? lots of beer, wine, softdrinks and a lot of chips!
ready for a beachfront drinking session? LOL
i miss summer! i miss the sea..

it was again one of those moments..kaya ayoko nang matagal wala ginagawa (i dont like it when i'm idle). i know i should be studying right now but i can't seem to pick up my books and notes. with 2 days to go before the shifting exams. wala pa rin ako energy. i just end up staring at my notes. they are still scattered on the floor..hm.. it started with a phone call from a sick dad which really made me sad. tapos ayun nasundan na when i saw something (which had nothing to do with my dad) and was reminded.
ghosts of the past revisit me.. they bombard me again and again.. and with what? the same old damn questions.. questions without answers. they can never be answered. they will never be answered. they're bothering me again.. so being the OC that i am, i asked my friend, "what should i do? should i look for answers", then he replied, "nope. do nothing. coz if you continue asking, you will only be left with more questions.."
yeah.. he has a point. some things in life are just meant to be left alone. they don't really need to be answered.. and sometimes, the answer could be hiding inside you. you may know it. you only refuse to accept it.
what to do?
just let go.. the world will never end just because some things were never laid out to you. everything goes on. you'll be left out if you dont stop lingering. there are a lot of better things to do and enjoy in life.
what i realized?
im still the same old me. naive. how naive of me to believe that there is goodness in everyone. there will always be exceptions..yes, people lie.
why do people lie?
coz they have something to gain or lose.. that simple.
masyado ba bitter? ngek.. hindi naman.. just some of my thoughts bout life. he he..
mahirap talaga pag wala kasama sa bahay.. at wala makausap.
sa mga nakakabasa.. ok lang naman ako. wala palang siguro sa mood. pre-exam syndrome/ tamaritis.. pero im ok. by tomorrow back to work na ko 'let. right now, out for fresh air muna..:)

i told myself that i'll never let this day end without making a new post. today is august 8, 2008 or 08/08/08. the chinese consider it to be a very lucky day but i don't intend to go on explaining more about it. i'm sure a lot of people got married as well as a lot of new businesses opened today. just as my classmate opened a new laundry shop. free laundry, anyone? :p
what do you know? they also officially opened the beijing olympic games today! i'm watching their ceremonies right know and i cant understand a word they're saying.. :) i heard that the philippines will only be sending 15 athletes to compete in 8 different sport discplines of the beijing 2008 olympics? WHAT THE?! what about the other competitions??? volleyball? basketball? is that true? i didn't believe it of course so i researched.. and i found this article- Philippines Olympic Athletes call on president. how sad.. i strongly believe that the government should improve their efforts in supporting the filipino athletes. i still believe that we have a lot of potential.
i also heard that manny pacquiao was chosen to be the flag bearer.. why? i have nothing against manny. i know he's really a great boxer and has given great pride to our country but isn't he a pro? aren't flag bearers supposed to be olympians also? oh well.. i dunno.. may be it's just me.

Today is also memorable for me because it was my first time to play indoor badminton with some fellas. i didn't expect that i would suck that bad!! haha.. my average score is 2 vs my opponent's 15.. and she's still a beginner! oh i suck really bad!! but that didn't stop me from wanting to improve. i want more! may be i can play again somewhere in QC. i think it's cheaper there.
aside from badminton i also want to try other sports such as table tennis, basketball and boxing. i want to be more active and physically fit. i think im starting to become addicted to sports and fitness. i started jogging and currently frequent the gym whenever i have time. it's exhilirating! exercise, indeed, helps relieve stress. i have no time left to be bored. :)
photo: i wasn't able to take a picture kanina. i borrowed one from z lite.
so how do i get out? manong..
i have to go. NOW na..
it somehow makes me sad, realizing how many people i know are in very trying situations these days. does the weather has something to do with it?
and why.. why is love always the culprit? anyway, i wish them well.
i would just want to quote what chyng had said in one of euge's posts. lalang i found it funny and it's true:
After that- nag-iinarte ka na lang."
Wag na i-nourish si pain!
featured game: just finished playing canyon defense. dak said it's boring. i enjoyed playing it though. haha..lalang.!. check it out at miniclip.com

some of my friends decided to get a massage and they altogether went to a spa last friday.
the reason: one particular friend, let's call her "chinita", was kinda depressed because she wasn't able to watch the cinderella musical play a day prior because of the sudden flood in their area which was due to heavy rains.. their tickets, worth 1,000 pesos each, were forfeited and they decided to just reschedule the said plan. and so chinita wasn't quite herself the whole day. she did not feel like doin anythin... until we suggested that she get a massage. somehow, she became excited. and off they went.
during the massage, chinita kept on laughing and making some noises. the massage was a bit hard for her low pain threshold. meanwhile, another friend-lets call him kulet, found the massage too light for him, so they switched masseuses.. after a few minutes, chinita refrained from making noises and so everyone taught that she's already enjoying or has even fallen asleep.. from time to time, they hear the masseuses murmuring and speaking in a different dialect, chatting. my friends just let them be. after the massage, kulet asked the masseuses from what provinces they were., they said that they are from cebu, then kulet called chinita and asked, "aren't you from davao?"
the masseuses were surprised and hurriedly greeted them farewell, bumping walls and hitting baskets as they had gone out. it was kind of funny.
cebuanos, as well as most residents of davao speak a different dialect, we, from Luzon, refer to as bisaya . both chinita and kulet had understood them all along. they said that chinita was lampa or that she was too soft and easily get hurt. IMO, what they said wasn't all that bad. even chinita said that she wasn't offended. we just thought it to be improper that they chatted during the massage. what made the matter even more rude is that they talked in a different dialect. who could have known what they were saying if chinita and kulet were not able to understand bisaya, right?
the same thing goes for all of us, we should never take advantage of the language barrier because it is rude. it's bad to talk about someone behind his back but it is more impolite to speak about that person in front of him in a language that he or she is not familiar with, right?
i have nothing against people who speak bisaya ok?? i have close friends from the visayas and mindanao. really cool people! mabuhay kayo! :) i just found the picture funny and somewhat related to my post.
i like this version of wannabe
